Snow Shovelling Skirmish Results in Arrest

On January 29, 2019, two female residents of a Waterloo Ave apartment were shovelling snow from their vehicles in the complex parking lot. One of the females, a 61 year old, was upset about the way the other 71 year old female was placing the snow from the vehicle she was clearing. It is alleged that the 61 year old threw snow with her shovel at the other female resulting in a physical altercation.

The victim received a cut to her cheek and bruising to her wrists. She did not require medical attention. The 61 year old will appear in court on March 12, 2019 to face the charge of Assault.

Robbery

On January 29, 2019, at approximately 5:30 p.m., the victim, a 33 year old Guelph male was purchasing some items at a variety store on Willow Road. A male acquaintance came into the store and took money from the victim and punched him several times. The male fled the store on foot and Guelph Police were called. Guelph Police will be seeking a warrant today for the arrest of a 17 year old Guelph male. The victim did not require medical treatment.

Police Pursuit Results in Multiple Charges

On January 29, at approximately 9:40 a.m., a Guelph Police officer attempted to stop a driver of a silver Mercedes on the area of Gordon Street. Police engaged in a short pursuit but abandoned it because the roads were both snow covered with a high volume of traffic. The driver was known to police and located later in the day after a warrant was executed at a residence on Auden Road.

The 41 year old Guelph male will appear in bail court today on charges that include Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Flight from Police, 3 counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Oxycodone, Crystal Meth and Cocaine), Breach of Probation and two counts of Drive While Prohibited.

Break and Enter

On January 29, 2019, culprit(s) entered a residence on Country Club Drive between the hours of 3 p.m., and midnight. A number of electronic gaming systems and televisions were stolen.
