Operation Impact October 5 – 8, 2018
This upcoming Thanksgiving holiday weekend, from October 5 – 8, 2018 the Guelph Police Service will be taking part in Operation Impact, an annual national campaign designed to make Canada’s roads the safest in the world.
Thanksgiving weekend is a time when many individuals and families are travelling to see their loved ones. Through education and enforcement, this Police initiative is designed to encourage safe driving practices in order to minimize senseless tragedy on our roadways.
This year, Operation Impact will continue to focus on the main behaviours that put drivers, passengers, and other road users most at risk:
- Distracted Driving
- Aggressive Driving
- Seat Belt Use
- Impaired Driving
Please remember to pay attention to the road at all times and refrain from aggressive driving and distracted driving behavior. Also, no matter how short the trip, buckle seat belts and ensure youngsters are properly restrained in vehicles according to their age and size. And always abstain from alcohol and/or drugs if you are intending to drive anywhere.
