Officer Assaulted During Downtown Arrest

On the evening of November 3rd, 2019, an adult male left a restaurant located in the downtown area of the City Guelph, refusing to pay.

A short time later, police located the male near the transit hub, and attempted to arrest him. During the course of the arrest, the male kicked the officer twice.

A 44 year old Guelph male has been charged with:

-Assault Police
-Obtain Food by Fraud
-Breach Probation

He will appear in court on December 20th, 2019.

Please note that there were no injuries resulting from this incident.

Male With Knife Threatens Employee During Theft

Early on the morning of November 4th, 2019, an employee observed an adult male stealing items from a store located in the area of Silvercreek Parkway North and Willow Road in the City Of Guelph. The employee attempted to stop him but was threatened by the male who then left the store on foot.

Police attended the scene, but were unable to locate him.

The male is described as Caucasian, 5’10, 30 years old, short black hair, wearing a bright orange construction vest and possibly carrying both a big white plastic bag and a knife.

Window Of Local Business Smashed

Early on the morning of November 4th, 2019, an adult male was observed throwing a large rock through a business window located in the area of Edinburgh Road North and Paisley Street in the City of Guelph.

Police attended the scene, but were unable to locate him.

The male is described as Caucasian, long light coloured hair, average height, slim build and carrying a bag on his back.
