K9 General Locates Wanted Male after 2 Hour Track

On Saturday August 31st, 2019 at approximately 9:14pm, emergency services responded for a medical call on in the area of Fife Road. Prior to police arrival, the male patient fled the area. It was learned the male had a Canada Wide Warrant for his arrest for being unlawfully at large. To assist in his escape the male broke into a business on Wellington Road and stole a commercial motor vehicle.

Three hours later, the stolen vehicle was located in a parking lot on Fife Road. The male was confirmed to be in a townhouse on Fife Road. To avoid being arrested the male climbed into an attic space, broke through the drywall of two adjoining units and jumped out a second story window.

K9 General was called to assist, and began tracking the male. The subject was located by K9 General and arrested. The duration of the track was 7.25km and 2 hours and 3 minutes.

A 25 year old Guelph male was charged with Break and Enter, Theft of Motor Vehicle, Mischief Over $5000, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Breach Probation. He was held pending a bail hearing.
