Fentanyl Trafficking Investigation Leads To Arrest And Multiple Charges

On August 20th, 2019, an ongoing fentanyl trafficking investigation being conducted by the Guelph Police Service Drug Unit led to one person being arrested in the downtown core of the city.

A search incident to arrest revealed:

  • 11.88 grams of fentanyl – $2,700 value
  • 75.68 grams of cocaine – $7,568 value
  • 1.53 grams of psilocybin – $10 value
  • 2.92 grams of MDMA – $250 value

A 36 year old Guelph male has been charged with:

  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Fentanyl
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine
  • Possession of Psilocybin
  • Possession of Methylenedioxy – methamphetamine – MDMA

He will appear in court on August 21st, 2019.

Multiple Motor Vehicles Stolen

Sometime during the evening of August 19th, 2019, a burgundy GMC Sierra was stolen from the parking lot of a hotel in the south end of the city, and a grey Toyota Tacoma was stolen from the driveway of a residence near the downtown area of the city.

Neither vehicle has not been recovered.

Motorcycle Refuses To Stop For Police

On August 20th, 2019, just prior to 9am, police attempted to initiate a traffic stop with a black and yellow motorcycle on Willow Road near Applewood Crescent in the City of Guelph, but the motorcycle refused to stop. Police discontinued the pursuit due to public safety concerns.

Break And Enter Of Condo Building

On August 19th, 2019, at approximately 6am, a condo building near the downtown area of the city was entered. The parking garage of the building was also broken into, where a vehicle was entered and a garage door opener was stolen.
