Police Observe Drug Transaction and Make 2 Arrests
On September 9th, 2019 at 12:52pm police observed a drug transaction in progress in the area of Surrey Street. A male party was seen producing a clear plastic bag containing cocaine from his backpack, before entering a waiting vehicle. The female driver drove off and officers followed the vehicle to a residential parking lot on Edinburgh Road South.
The 20 year old Kitchener male and 40 year of Montreal woman were both arrested at 12:57pm. A search of the vehicle was conducted and police seized the plastic bag of cocaine observed previously, as well as an additional clear bag of cocaine which was located between the front seats. Total amount of cocaine seized was 3.62 grams. The male’s backpack was also searched and contained 8.84 grams of crystal meth, and 7 tablets of oxycodone.
Further investigation revealed that the male was wearing a watch valued at $3,565.00, which had been reported stolen from a residence in the city of Waterloo on the 22nd of August, 2019.
The male was held pending a bail hearing and the female was released with a court date of October 29th, 2019.
Routine Patrol Leads to Arrest and Cannabis Seizure
At approximately 12:30am on the 10th of September, 2019 police were conducting routine patrol in the area of Edinburgh Road and Inkerman Street, when they observed a vehicle parked on the wrong side of the road with the trunk open. Officers spoke to a male party who admitted that he was delivering cannabis products to clients in the area.
At 12:57am the 28 year old Hamilton male was arrested for Possession for the Purpose of Distributing Cannabis. He was transported to the Guelph Police Service station and was held pending a bail hearing. The total amount of cannabis seized was approximately 300 grams.
Suspicious Person Call Turns up Wanted Party
At approximately 2:30am on the 10th of September, 2019 the Guelph Police Service was contacted in regard to two suspicious males in the area of Arthur Street and Alice Street. Police checked the area and were able to locate the males as they were travelling eastbound on Elizabeth Street on bicycles.
Upon investigation, it was discovered that one of the males was currently wanted for Breach of Probation. The 28 year old Guelph male was arrested on the strength of the warrant. He was transported to the Guelph Police Service station where he was subsequently released on a Promise to Appear, with a court date of October 18, 2019.
