Collision Investigation Results in Impaired Charge
On October 8, 2019 at approximately 2:13 pm a Toyota pick up truck travelling north on Victoria Road struck a Chrysler minivan turning onto Grange road.
The Chrysler minivan left the scene and was observed driving aggressively in a nearby subdivision a short time later.
The driver of the minivan was eventually located nearby and found to be in an intoxicated state. The 25 year old Guelph woman was charged with Operation While Impaired and Operation While Impaired-Blood alcohol above 80 mgs. As part of the investigation, the female and her 3 year old, who was a passenger in the minivan, were transported to GGH and subsequently released with minor injuries.
Blood Alcohol Level Over 80
On October 8, 2019 at approximately 1:04pm, a male drove to the Collision Reporting Centre to report a crash on a previous day. Police spoke to the male at the Collision Reporting Centre and allegedly detected the strong odour of an alcoholic beverage. The male provided a sample of his breath into the roadside screening device, which he failed.
The 64 year old Guelph male was charged with operating while impaired – blood alcohol concentration.
On October 8, 2019 at approximately 8:15pm, Guelph police were alerted by citizens of a male in downtown Guelph that was yelling, swearing and generally being unruly. Police were able to locate the male and initiated an investigation into his behaviour. As a result of the investigation, the male was arrested and charged with two counts of breaching an Officer In Charge Undertaking.
Break and Enter Investigation – Wanted Parties
On October 6, 2019 Guelph police initiated a break and enter investigation involving residential property on Cardigan Street. Suspects broke into the residential property, stole credit cards and used them. Investigation has lead to the identification of five suspects. An arrest warrant has been issued for all five suspects.
On October 8, 2019 two of the five have been arrested and charged with mulitiple break and enter, theft and breach related charges.
Break and Enter Investigation
On October 9, 2019 at approximately 4:30am, Guelph police were called to an address on Mont Street, where a home owner caught three males in their garage. The three males were confronted by the home owner and one of the males then pulled out a large kitchen knife. The suspect with the knife then pushed passed the home owner and the three suspects fled the area. There are no injuries as a result of this incident.
The suspects are described as males, white, early 20’s, one male was approximately 5’9” wearing a dark coloured hooded jacket and black Adidas pants with thin white stripes. A second male was possibly wearing a grey hoodie. There was no description for the third male.
