On July 11th, 2019, at 5:38pm, Police stopped a vehicle in the area of Clair Road East and Tolton Drive while investigating the Highway Traffic Act offence of Drive With Handheld communication device. While speaking with the driver, police detected an odour of alcohol. The driver subsequently failed a roadside screening device. Investigation revealed the driver was also on conditions not to consume alcohol.
The driver, a 37-year-old Puslinch male, was charged with Operation While Impaired, Breach Recognizance and Breach OIC Undertaking. He was held for a bail hearing.
Break and Enter Ends with Four Under Arrest
On July 11, 2019, at 2:17a.m., three parties forced entry into the locked walk in refrigeration unit at Wellington Street business. While the three were removing product from the building, a fourth party joined the group and entered into the refrigeration unit. A total of $231.55 in product was stolen and $100 damage caused to the door. After reviewing security video Police were able to identify all four parties. Two female and two male, all from Guelph were arrested and charged with Break and Enter and a total of 8 counts of Breach of Probation.
Another Bike Theft from a Shed
- On July 11, 2019, Police responded to a Break and Enter into a shed at a residence on Earl Street. Sometime overnight, unknown persons entered the shed and stole a Kona Deluxe flat bicycle that is grey in colour. The bicycle was valued at $677.35.
