Democracy is under attack in Canada with Trudeau the driver of this narrative. Trudeau had an obligation to show up and allow the other candidates to question him about his track record, and the current RCMP inquiry on SNC-Lavalin.
A Prime Minister whose government is under investigation by the R.C.M.P. that doesn’t show up for the first televised debate thinks he is clearly above the law. He is not governing with the right priorities, with respect for the oath he took when elected.
Trudeau’s decision was a blatant disregard of the democratic process, and an incredible middle finger to those Canadians looking for answers. He chose to campaign rather than face opposition to his government’s scandal packed tenure, not to mention facing questions about the current RCMP inquiry blocks around the SNC-Lavalin affair.
So much for his 2015 promise of ‘sunny ways’ and transparent government. Free speech on social media platforms has been restricted. The mainstream media has been given a bailout, essentially allowing the government to dictate the narrative. The debates Trudeau has agreed to are only those moderated and produced by a team of hand-picked journalists.
In what logical world would any Canadian vote for a party that disrespects the country and the voters to this lowest degree?
Yet, what would you expect from a Prime Minister who openly admires other world dictatorships? In 2015 Canada believed the contrived image created. It is now 2019, and actions speak louder than words. He truly is #notasadvertised.
