Break and Enter – 2 Males Arrested
On January 24, 2019 at approximately 3:10am, Guelph police were alerted to two males acting suspiciously in the area of Hill Trail and Grange Road. Initial reports received indicated that the males were going through vehicles and checking mail boxes. Upon arrival, police were able to confirm one residential garage had been entered. As a result of the investigation, a 23 year old male and an 18 year old male, both from Guelph, were arrested for break, enter and commit, trespass by night, possession of property obtained by crime and various breaches of court orders. Both were held pending a bail hearing.

Disturbance downtown – arrest
On January 23, 2019 at approximately 1:10 p.m., Guelph Police went to the VIA Station located on Carden Street for the report of a disturbance inside the building. Investigation determined that a male and female were arguing and that the female was breaching court imposed conditions. The female was arrested.
The 25-year-old Guelph female has been charged with breach probation and breach undertaking. She has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Theft from store – arrest
On January 23, 2019 at 6:52 p.m., Guelph Police went to a Silvercreek Parkway North business to investigate the report of a theft. The male responsible had taken property located outside of the store. Police located the male and he was arrested. This male then provided police a name that was discovered to be false. Once his real name was checked it was determined that there was a warrant in existence for his arrest.
The 33-year-old Guelph man has been charged with theft under $5,000 and obstruct police. This is on top of the warrant charges of obstruct police, theft under $5,000 and escape lawful custody. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Theft from cars
On January 23, 2019 the Guelph Police received three reports of theft from cars. The locations were Macdonell Street, Highview Place and Bristol Street.
This crime is easily avoidable. Please lock your cars and do not leave belongings visible. If you do become a victim of this crime you can report it through the Guelph Police online reporting portal.
