4th Female Comes Forward on Sexual Assault at Riverside Park

Further Update on Sexual Assault Investigation at Riverside Park

On July 28th, 2019, the Guelph Police Service released information about a sexual assault that occurred on July 26th at Riverside Park located at 709 Woolwich Street in the City of Guelph.  The suspect male was described as East Indian, 50-60 years old, thin build, wearing sunglasses, grey shirt and spoke with a light Indian accent.  He had his young grandson with him.  The suspect was arrested and charged with one count of sexual assault.

On August 8th, 2019, the accused was further charged with two more counts of sexual assault after two more victims came forward with incidents occurring on July 22nd and July 26th, both at Riverside Park.

On August 26th, 2019, the same accused was arrested after a fourth female advised that she was sexually assaulted at Riverside Park on July 24th.  She was not injured.

Indecent Act On Bike Path

On August 27th, 2019, just prior to 5:55am, an adult female was walking on the bike path that runs parallel to Edinburgh Road North, near Willow Road on the east side of Edinburgh Road North in the City of Guelph. As she was walking, she crossed paths with a male walking a bicycle. The male exposed himself and attempted to initiate a conversation. The female then ran away and contacted police.

The suspect is described as male white, 35 years, 5’6, medium build, wearing a dark sweater, light colored undershirt, possibly a toque and riding a bicycle that seemed too small for him.

Sometime between August 22nd and 26th, 2019, a storage unit at a construction site in the south end of the city was entered. Various tools and batteries valued at $1,500 were stolen.

Sometime over the night of August 25th, 2019, a house in the west end of the city was entered. A purse was stolen.
