Are you a knitter or crocheter who is feeling the stress of looming gift deadlines? Organize yourself with our free holiday project planner journal.
It’s the most wonderful time for most. For knitters and crocheters, however, it’s often a time of year when self-imposed project deadlines to get all our gifts complete come into play. This is why I’ve created a knit and a crochet holiday project planner journal for you to organize your projects.
Whether you like to plan for the entire year or by project, this holiday project planner lets you track both.
First I suggest you take a look at how many projects you’ve committed yourself to make. Do you have the supplies on hand or will you need to purchase more? Based on the remaining time left to make it, is it reasonable for you to complete each one to the best of your ability?
Next, print out the “Planner” pages and come up with some deadlines so you have a bit of a plan as to how fast you need to work. Remember to be realistic with the time you actually have to work on your projects.
After you’ve set out your deadlines, which one do you start with? You can either start with the most important ones or, if they are all equal in priority, consider starting with the small items so that they are quick wins for you. This definitely helps in the motivation department and will keep you moving along through your list.
Over the years I have made something for everyone on my rather large list and completely burnt myself out. Then other years, nobody gets anything because I shudder in remembrance of the pressure from years past. Try and find a happy medium where you give to only a few and choose projects that are fairly quick turn-arounds, especially as there are only four weeks until Christmas at this point (if that’s your holiday deadline)!
Sometimes we are so focused on getting things checked off our list that we forget to enjoy the process and experience of having made something with our very own hands.
For this reason, I felt it was important to include a journal where you can make notes on the project details such as who you made it for and the date, as well as your thoughts on the pattern – you even get to rate it! And, if you are so inclined, I’ve included an area to put a photo of your finished piece.
So where can you get your project planner? I’ve included the knit and crochet project journals in both the files and the announcement sections of my Ruthless Crafters Facebook Group.
Simply join me in the group and we can work together on our holiday projects! Be sure to share this post with your friends so that they can get the free download as well.
